About Us

Hello, my name is Jennifer.
The first thing I would like to tell you is thanks for visiting our site and considering our
pet care services.

I have always loved animals, since I was a kid.  As a young child, we had all kinds of pets. We had cats, a rabbit, finches, parrots, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, a turtle and an outdoor dog. When I grew up and moved out, I couldn't wait to get my first dog of my very own. I chose a loving, and adorable Pug, Jasmine, who is now over 13 years old!
OUR STORY:

In 2009 I worked at a doggy daycare in Indianapolis. I liked the job because I got to be with dogs everyday, and I gained the knowledge and dog handling skills that I use today. While I was working there, we found the most wonderful Goldendoodle, Gretchen. She was a rescue, who had been neglected, and we adopted her. I was able to take her with me to work, where she could play and burn off all her big girl energy.
The facility that I worked in, also had boarding. This is where I learned how not to do things. On the weekends that I came in to help with the boarders, I was disturbed by the way the animals had been left. Some without any water in their kennels, and it appeared that no one had taken them out or cleaned up their messes. I confronted the owners about the deplorable conditions and was let go.

Then I knew what I had to do! It was time to open my own home daycare and boarding business.  My mission, to offer affordable, quality dog care.   From there, Wagging Ways was born.

Since our opening, in 2011, we have been super busy! In April 2011 we started fostering dogs for the Animal Protection League, in Anderson Indiana. My very first foster dog, Bekah, stole my heart and I rescued her from death row. She was with us for over a year and just recently went to her FOREVER home. Since Bekah, we have successfully adopted out more than 50 dogs, from local shelters, owner surrenders and occasional rescues.

Dogs are certainly my passion in life! I will love and care for each and every one, like it was my own, while they are in my care. The dogs make that part pretty easy though, as you all know!

Here's Miss Bekah, our very first foster dog! She will always have a piece of our hearts! After all, her adorable face, helped us find our path.
